What is Fair Trade?
The Fair Trade movement is about lifting producers in developing countries out of poverty though trade, not aid. Through the Fair Trade system, consumers can have the power to make a difference in ways that conventional trade is failing. By choosing products carrying the Fairtrade Label, or those handcrafted by Fair Trade Organisations, consumers can support farmers, artisans and their communities in receiving more stable and secure incomes, better working conditions, and enhanced investment in quality and local environmental sustainability.
